(UK) Milton Keynes – Your short escape into the nature

Millton Keynes is a large town situated at approximate 100 km away from London. MK has many parks, rivers and lakes where you can spend some quality time and enjoy the fresh air.

I was reading about this town and from the beginning the architechts developed the concept of “city in a forrest” so all the nurseries around MK planted millions of trees from their own stock. At the moment the urban area has around 20 million trees.  Amazing !

“Willen Lake North Side”

I`m spending a lot of time in Milton Keynes because here I feel good and I can practice my hobby, which is fishing, in the very best conditions.

“Good Pike Fishing”

Not only fishing you can do here, but watersports like sailing, rowing, wakeboarding , or simple walks in the nature in Campbell Park, Willen Lake, Caldecotte Lake and Great Linford Park.

"Swan on Willen Lake"

“Swan on Willen Lake”

Is a perfect place for bike ridings and jogging as well for families with kids as there is a fun park for them called Gulliver`s Land where the little ones can play. As well in every park you will find small playgrounds for the children.

In Willen Lake Park you can go for some adventure rope lessons, mini golf and wakeboarding and at 10 min away in Caldecotte Lake Park you can apply for sailing or rowing lessons.

You can find in both Lake Parks, Willen and Caldecotte, 2 Premier Inn Hotels which they have inside 2 local pubs with amazing british food. The one from Caldecotte Lake is built in an old traditional british Mill.

” Amazing Sunset on Caldecotte Lake”

To get here from London is very quick and easy. There are buses, trains or via personal car you can get in 1 hour.

My recommendation is too book advance train tickets from Euston Station in London, and when you do it you can add a full bus pass for MK for the all day with only 2,70 GBP. One ride with bus is approx. 1,75 GBP si the PlusBus pass is a got deal. The cost for the all transport would be around 20 GBP with return train ticket and with the PlusBus permit included.

If you will come by train which i highly recommend you will be there in approximate 40-45 min depending on which type of trains service you will book( Virgin Trains and Middland Train Services available). You will arrive in Milton Keynes Central station and from here you have bus nr 8 going to Walnut Tree which stoppes at Willen Lake and bus nr 11/12 which goes to Caldecotte and also stoppes at Willen lake. The ride is approximate 15-25 min.
I hope you will like Milton Keynes as much as i do and I really wish you have fun and enjoy what MK has to offer!
